Ryo Okumoto - Coming Through

Ryo came to me and said "I am doing a solo record." I said "GREAT!" We had done some sessions together for a project he was directing for something in Japan a while back. That project never panned out, but he still had some of the tracks. The song I wrote and sand lead on "The Farther He Goes, The Farther He Falls" came from those first sessions. I took the basic tracks, wrote some words to it and actually sang the track here at my house on my cheap, but very cool AKG C-1000 mic. It worked out well and the mic only costs $150.00. You never know sometimes. The song is about a guy who drinks too much and loses it all. At the time I had been doing some top-40 gigs in Laguna Beach with some friends and I thought it would be good if in the bridge of the song, the guy in the story was in the bar drunk trying to hit on women. So, I brought a mini disc recorder into the bar one Saturday night and recorded the very drunk crowd, flew that into the song and then sang that part like I was drunk trying to hit on a girl. Just trying to be creative. Another really cool thing about that song is that Steve Lukather played Guitar on it.
