Hello!!!

It has taken me a while but I want to say THANK YOU, MERCI, THANK YOU to all of the amazing people up here in Quebec who helped put the 2 SB "X" cd release parties together.

Louis-Karl Picard, Francois & Alexandre Hudon, Ben La and (I'm sure I am forgetting somebody) everyone else who helped out in Quebec City. It was a great hang and everyone was so nice and generous.

Michel Taillefer and Robert Dansereau had to go through venues closing last minute and other things to make the party happen in Montreal and they also did a fantastic job.

Now we have to get the whole band up here and all will be perfect.

Check out the vid from the Montreal party. A fellow artist and friend Randy McStine from New York, wrote to me saying he was going to come up for the party. Randy is a fantastic guitarist, singer, songwriter and has his own CD out now called "LO-FI RESISTANCE" that I am honored to be a part of. I played drums and mixed his disc and you should all go buy it.

There are also some other great guest artists on the CD as well. The music to me has it's proggy moments. It definitely rocks as well. To me it has the feel of Kevin Gilbert meets Jellyfish. Very cool stuff.

Since Randy was already driving up I asked him if he would play a few songs with me. We have never played together before. Only worked on the CD via the internet! Well Randy did such a great job and it was his suggestion to break up the hands for the opening section of THE DOORWAY and it really worked out great. I could have easily had Randy play the whole set with me and next time I will!

Here is the link for the vid on YOU TUBE:

In closing, thank you everybody you helped and was involved in these get parties. This band has amazing fans and we wouldn't be here without you!

ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE NEW SPOCK'S BEARD CD "X" IS OUT!!! WHOO HOOO!!!!!
After a long wait the new CD is finally here. Thank you to all of the fans who put up their hard earned money ahead of time to help up make this CD. We feel it turned out very well and can't wait for all of you to hear it.

To celebrate the release I am doing a couple of listening parties along with an acoustic set up here in Quebec. I figure I am already here, there are great prog/SB fans here and I WANT TO PLAY!!! One of the parties is in Quebec City on June 14th and the other is in Montreal on June 21st. Yes those are Monday's but it is the only day I can do because of my Cirque Du Soleil schedule. We are starting a little early because I know we all have to get back home at a decent hour to prepare for the next day. Check out the flyers below. The one for Quebec City is in French. If for some reason you need info in English for that gig just write to the email address attached. The flyer for Montreal is in both English and French.

Basically we are going to listen down to the new disc, have question and answer sessions about the songs, and then to finish off the night I am going to do an acoustic set of a bunch of SB tunes and maybe a few other things. Admission is free for both gigs but there are bars where all of you will hopefully buy a couple of drinks to help out these very generous venues.

Big thank you's go out to my QUEBEC friends helping out with these gigs!!!

Hope to see you there,

Hello one and all!

As any of you who follow Spock's Beard know our 10th CD "X" will be released soon. It has been hand delivered to the manufacturer and all of those pre-orders will be sent out very soon. We are very excited to get this music out into the world. The record turned out really well. It progs (is that a verb?...well it is now :)) it rocks and makes no apologies about it. HA HA HA! Really we had a lot of fun making this record and can't wait to play this music live. Which is also coming.

Here is why I am writing this and it goes out to all of you in Montreal and Quebec.

I was thinking that it would be cool and fun to have a listening party. Or two. We could sit and listen through the new CD and talk about each song if you like, or listen down to the whole thing then talk. Then after that I could do a short acoustic set to finish off the night.

There are a few things about this idea though:

Someone will generously have to host this evening and needs to have a good sound system to listen to the music through. I don't not have the ability or place to do so myself here in Montreal. Also the person or persons who host the night will have to be OK with letting people into their home. I have done a bunch of "HOUSE CONCERTS" in the past and they are really fun and there have never been any problems. I think this could be a great way to get to know some of you Canadian fans and play some music as well. We can make it a pot luck where everybody who comes has to bring something to eat and drink that way it is not all left to the host and then we can all party a bit.

We can definitely limit the number of people who can come. I have no idea how popular this idea will even be. It can be set up so something like the first 50 or 100 or however many people the host thinks they could handle would be able to come.

Here a wrench I have to put into this whole idea... As you all may or may not know I have a new gig with Cirque Du Soliel. The show I am in is called TOTEM and it is starting this week on Thursday. The only night of the week I have off is Monday. A school night/work night is not ideal I know. For me as well but that is all I have.

I'd like to open this idea to both Montreal and Quebec City. Hopefully there will be enough interest to have one of these hangs in each place but lets see first.

So lets do this:
1. write to me at FACEBOOK
Not on the wall. Send me a message so I can keep them all together.
Let me know if you are interested in hosting a night like this.
If I get enough interest and it looks like this could actually happen then we can work together to get the official invites out, set the date, and make it happen.

Let's take it from here. If it can happen then great. If not well then it was a nice thought.

All the best!!!
